The market has evolved. Bull used to compete with two companies. Now that AI overlaps with HPC, more consumer-friendly companies have entered the same category. Many of the new AI players, including AMD and NVIDIA, started out as consumer brands. Their decades of experience in creating appealing visuals are now setting new expectations. Closing the gap with companies whose revenues are up to 700 times larger makes for a great resource optimization challenge.

Video is always an important medium for a technology that evolves out of sight. When I arrived at Bull, the same eight visuals were being used everywhere. My goal was to build a culture of visual excellence that could extend to all media. Bull has a unique video DNA that leverages access to a few thousand GPUs.
Bespoke
program
The Bespoke program offers made-to-measure design for extremely large clusters. When clients pay €400 million for a system, the experience should match any other purchase at that scale. Even in a corporate setting, a half-billion-euro order from Airbus comes with an expectation of exclusivity. I created the Bespoke program to tailor custom experiences, from one-of-a-kind machine designs to services that help institutional clients organize their space and communicate with the public.
Digital
Experience
Seeing an HPC system in person is anticlimactic. You talk about this high-tech machine, and all you see is a large metal box making a loud, piercing whine. A digital experience that explains our innovations was key. We developed a series of digital experiences that work like an X-ray of the machine. They’re featured at our headquarters and factory, as well as at major events such as SC and ISC.
