There are a few reasons why a company like Sony uses outside design and engineering resources, even though it’s one of the world’s leading engineering powerhouses. We provided global market knowledge in CMF and design that their teams lacked.

 

Phone cases are an extremely market-sensitive product, whereas something like a PlayStation needs little adaptation from one country to another. Another advantage we brought was our expertise in soft goods design and manufacturing.
