MUVIT
Audio Range
FRANCE/HK, 2017-2023
Lead designer ascendeo/Innov8
This range is a fair balance of original design for earphones and headphones and CMF design for larger Bluetooth speakers that were already registered, tested and certified. This is was the first audio range for ascendeo/innov8 started in 2016. This was one of the best seller in audio for years in multiple categories.
Noteworthy : 3700% sales increase in 12 months of launch from previous range.
Earphones
Earphones were a tough market. Major brands covered every price point, with Sony and JVC models available for as little as €9.99. Muvit led sales in Spain and Portugal but was a second-tier brand across the rest of Europe.

Headphones
Headphones are always an interesting ergonomic challenge. They change visually depending on the wearer, how they wear them, and so on. They also face branding challenges similar to those of the earphones. The design direction here was a simple, smartphone-adjacent look and feel, while limiting the variety of finishes. The result is an elegant mid-market solution.

Speakers
Speakers are an even more challenging category. Holding a decent inventory takes a lot of storage space, and inventory costs add up. That’s why retailers are extremely selective about which speakers they stock. Part of the value proposition was offering a full range of audio products with consistent DNA and branding.
The small speakers, in the same category as the JBL Go, took the opposite approach, deliberately avoiding the sport and mobility lifestyle angle. We created a sub-segment that, for a while, only we served.
